Welcome to  Ohio Lions 13 OH 1

Ohio Lions District OH1 has partnered with the Logan County United Way to support the relief and recovery efforts taking place after the EF3 Tornado on March 14th which flattened the communities of Russells Point and Lakeview, Ohio, as well as causing extensive damage in surrounding rural areas. You may make donations in the following ways.

Tax deductible donations can be made at: www.uwlogan.org, the web address for the Logan County United Way which is a 501(c)3 charity. If you want your donation to be credited to the Lions Organization, after entering your name as listed on the credit card you use for donating, add a dash and a Lion label. Examples could be: Jane Doe – OH4 Lions or John Doe – Pennsylvania Lions. The Logan County United Way Donation system automatically issues a receipt for tax purposes and can sort donations based on key words; hence, the need to add Lions to the name of the donor.

If you or your club wish to donate by check, use District Lions OH1 on the designation line and add tornado relief on the memo line. Mail the check to: PDG John Davis, 933 Thornapple Lane, Findlay, Ohio 45840. If your check does not identify your club, please add a note in the mailing with that information.

The relief and recovery process is well underway, and the local community has stepped up admirably. However, this will be a long and difficult process and organizations like ours will play an important role in supporting those affected as they work to overcome this blow thrown their way.

The new Lions Portal will be up and running in the middle of April. Are you prepared to utilize this new tool? Be sure to check out the videos available at email, the Lions International website and/or Facebook. The more we learn about how to use the Portal, the easier it will be when it becomes available. The District Administrator, PDG Lion Bill Keller is also available to handle your questions as you begin this new process. Clubs who have elected their officers for next year may report that information now. You certainly don’t have to wait until the deadline of May 15th to do so.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the District Convention, April 5 – 6, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Findlay. You can still register to attend for the day, however, you will have to supply your own meals. A lot of important information will be shared and available during the convention. Our visiting International Director, PCC Lion Ron Keller and Lion Kitty, are very interested to hear about the many wonderful things the Lions of NW Ohio do for their communities. Clubs attending may bring their club banner to display. Be sure to bring the stand for it as well since these will not be hung. Eyeglasses for VOSH and jars of peanut butter for the state convention service project may also be dropped off at the convention.

As always serve with kindness and let your love of lionism show!
